We provide expert Database Administration services to Oracle RDBMS. Whether you need, short-term maintenance, technical review or ongoing tuning and enhancement, our experts at Data Horizons are ready to assist you. We provide a complete secure remote administration of an Oracle database instance.
How does it work? We provide two simple plans:
- Short-term maintenance plan:
First, for security purposes, we do not require you to give us your Oracle SYS or SYSTEM passwords. Our experts at Data Horizons have put together an application called MYDBA, which can be physically installed at the client's site. This application has all the necessary SQL and PL/SQL scripts integrated in it that produce reports which give you a sound understanding of your database health.
Once the reports are generated, we ask you to email them or fax them to us. Our DBA experts
analyze and evaluate the reports' results thoroughly and recommend various levels of corrective action and/or improvements in database configuration.
If an immediate action is required because of conditions that may contributes to the database down time, we'll send one of our DBA experts to your site to perform the necessary database tuning and enhancements, of course the changes will be applied with the client's involvement.
- Long-term maintenance plan:
This plan is designed for organizations without DBA support. All aspects of configuration, tuning, enhancing database performance, and maintenance are incorporated into this plan.
The goal is to conduct an ongoing and predictive maintenance tasks to guarantee smooth database operations.
We do not require your Oracle SYS or SYSTEM password. We'll work with your system administrator to establish a secure remote connection to the server on which your Oracle database is installed. Once connection is established, we only require "SELECT" privileges on certain data dictionary tables and views to generate analysis reports against your database, and if a change must be made to the database, we ask for client's permission and their involvement.
